Home Visits
Home Visits
Home visits are a way for clients in the community to receive physiotherapy rehabilitation and exercise physiology services in the comfort of their own home. These visits are best suited for those who are unable to leave their house due to health or mobility reasons. Home visits are available for those with a home care package, NDIS, or those funded privately.
How Home Visits Can Help
Rehabilitation in the home is a great way to help individuals achieve their mobility, functional, or pain relief goals. We offer both physiotherapy and exercise physiology services to support your overall well-being. Rehabilitation sessions may include tailored and supervised exercise programs designed to improve your walking, balance, strength, flexibility, and general physical function.
Our Exercise Physiologists are experts in developing individualized exercise plans that focus on improving your physical capacity, managing chronic conditions, and enhancing overall quality of life. Whether you're working on pain management, increasing your endurance, or recovering from surgery, our Exercise Physiologists will create a program that is suited to your specific needs and goals.
We also offer other services such as:
- Transfer assessments
- Mobility assessments
- Walking aid prescription
- Massage and other therapies for pain relief
- Chronic condition management through targeted exercise plans
Who Benefits from Home Visits?
Home visits are commonly required for:
- Post-operation recovery for those who are not cleared to drive and live alone.
- Older populations who no longer drive and live alone.
- Clients living with a disability that limits their access to the community.
- People who are immunocompromised, such as those undergoing cancer treatment.
- People with medical conditions that prevent them from leaving their home, e.g., individuals requiring oxygen or mobility assistance.
Ensuring Safety and Comfort
As we are entering your home, it is important that the environment is safe for both you and the physiotherapist or exercise physiologist. When requesting a home visit, you will be directed to complete a home safety assessment checklist to ensure your safety and the safety of our team during the visit.
Not Sure if a Home Visit is Right for You?
If you believe you may benefit from a home visit but are unsure if it’s suitable for you, please call our friendly reception team. They will consult with one of our physiotherapists or exercise physiologists to assess whether a home visit is appropriate for your specific needs.
