Physiotherapy is an essential part of rehabilitation for those who have sustained an injury either at work or as a result of a motor vehicle accident. A physiotherapist can guide individuals throughout their rehabilitation journey as they return to work or pre-injury activities. Benefits of physiotherapy for this population can include:
Establishment of patient-specific goals to guide the individualized rehabilitation journey
Improve movement and reduce pain/stiffness using manual therapy techniques
Advocacy and communication to other professionals involved in the claim
Increased patient-understanding about the injury/condition
Enhanced knowledge about self-management strategies to help manage
Improve quality of movement and strength through an exercise program based on relevant work tasks or patient-specific movements
With the above-mentioned benefits, physiotherapy will help empower people throughout rehabilitation. Therefore, making the transition back to work or pre-injury function as smooth as possible, to keep the individual doing what they love!
Exercise Physiologists are allied health professionals who specialise in the use of exercise to improve physical function and health. Through compensable claims, we will conduct a thorough assessment of your current condition to determine your functional capacity. We will then develop a personalised treatment plan to help you reach your rehabilitation goals whilst encouraging self-management for life beyond your claim. We use a biopsychosocial approach for your rehabilitation with an understanding that recovery can be a complex process and there may be more impacting your recovery.
Benefits of Exercise Physiology treatment through compensable claims may include:
Reduced pain (and education around chronic pain)
Restoring mobility
Increased strength
Improved endurance
Improved balance and coordination
Reduced risk of further injury
Faster return to work and daily activities
Improved quality of life
By providing support, education and encouraging self-efficacy, we can assist your return to work, return to daily activities and back to your usual self.
